20 Days, 20 Lessons: #5

I think the following will say enough in and of itself.

Lesson #5: One must be cautious not to mix up Javanese culture with compulsive lying. While they may appear to be one in the same, they are in fact different. Yes can very well mean no. Use your judgment.

Equally important to note is that “uh-uh” in English means no. In Indonesian, it is understood as yes. This is a fun one to explain.
